If you have a talent that is not quite well developed, then would you use it to help someone else even if it is not perfect? What if you hurt them instead of helping?Would you still try it?Do I need more time to practice so it gets perfect?

I encourage anyone to pursue their talents and become the best at what they enjoy doing.

If your talent really could hurt someone in the process of learning how to do it, I wouldn't suggest putting yourself or someone else in that situation. It's hard to know exactly what kind of talent you're talking about, that would warrant such a concern.

If you're talking about practicing brain surgery or knife throwing, I would say, better wait until you feel more confident in these areas. If you are talking about something in the more psychological realm, I would encourage you to practice under supervision of a mentor in that field until you gain the confidence you need.

By all means, DO explore your talent to the fullest, but be responsible too.

That's what I do. I am a talented saxophone player and a pretty good teacher, so I give private saxophone lessons. I am not a perfect sax player or teacher, but I still share my talent with my students. I don't go into areas I know I am weak in because I do not want to harm them.

Yes you can help even if it is not perfect. Nothing is ever perfect. Just offer help to others and let them decide if they will use it or if they want it. It is their decision so you can't hurt them if they make their own choice.

Is it better to have a marginally talented person help, or a person with no talent at all help?

I would just want to help people for sure, so if there was a chance I could hurt them I wouldn't try.

Go for it, as long as your talent isn't surgery.
Then you'll need more practice
