There is no 'best' age, its all about individual kids and when they are ready, if you push them before they are ready they will fail and that is never a good thing, its frustrating for you and them and even though they won't truly understand they will know they are disappointing you. do it when success is something they can experience.

It is best to start trying just as soon as they are 1 year-15 mths. Now some kids it can take up to 4 years old to potty train. My husband bribed my little girl with big girl princess panties. It took 2 weeks. She was 3. Now my oldest was 4 years old and my mom threatened to whoop her butt if she pottied in her panties again. Different kids are different ages. Mostly I would say try it and see if kid is interested. If it doesn't work wait a week and try again. Keep this up till they do it.

When the little thing can go get their own diaper out of the bag or peel the wet one off, or tell you they are wet, it is past time to potty train. Usually around about 2 yrs old, but the will of a 2 year old is somethin else.

Usually around age two is when you start. Note: Boys are harder to potty train than girls.

It really depends on the maturity of the child. Some are ready to train very early and some not so early. Luckily both of mine were trained by the time they were two.
