Sorry, the dial-up is rated at only 56k for laboratory conditions. 49k is pretty good for real life performance.
Some of the ISP's offer an accelerated version, but most just preload your frequently accessed pages, and give you just the updates. Not really "faster", just less data to send. And doesn't help for new pages.
If you really want a faster connection, you will have to buy it. Sorry

well first off you need to get rid of that dial up connection because it is not going to do you any good. Second of all you didn't say which kind of dial up you have (ex. AOL, or SBC). But when you do find that out you should call and ask if you can get anything faster...
