Well you know things are just different across the pond. We each grew up with different cultures and families - so we think what is funny differently - in fact, what your neighbor finds funny you might not. And I do love British humor - I love Fawlty Towers (stars John Cleese!).

Different culture, different structure of thought, different teachings, values, authority. For example, here we have the option to have Cable, Satalite or just have regular antenna. There you have to have a license that you pay for to the goverment to watch government approved programming and TV....that will knock your sense of humor right out the window. If you are interested in BBC comedy, I'd check out The Young Ones...it discusses all of this.

Good question. I am a British guy and find SOME American comedy SO funny but VERY different to UK classics such as Faulty Towers (The best ever). I think we both have our good shows and our bad shows. I dont think we are that far apart in our sense of humour. I have lots of American friends and they all love Monty Python and Faulty Towers etc.

History. Sociology. We have a different history than Britain. I think that our pasts and social structures influence our senses of humor much more than race or language.

I think the USA sense of humor, comedy wise is awful. I just can't laugh at it.

Because the British do not live and work here, and Americans do not live abroad to understand each other. Also, everything has to do with the currency exchange rates.
By the way, what nationality are U ?

because the US is very much so more conservative and worried about violence and on the news and other things that childern are not ready to see...where as the UK is much more laxed when it comes to comedy...like who gives a rats *** and stuff like that...the US has some issues to pull together...not to mention a bunch of people are very unaware and insecure of themselves e.g. sexuality for one, with the whole coming out of the closet for gay/lesbian folk....it makes them uneasy and such......it's funny to me...lol...
