Sunflower seeds are great for keeping your fingernails away from your mouth without gaining a ton of weight. I say have fake nails applied. Either professionally or wit the stick on kind that is a whole nail. Then keep them on. Cut them kind of short so they dont break easily, and replace them when they come off. This will help you break the habit and let you discover hoe nice it is to have nails and not sore cuticles. Good luck.

Try giving yourself a time limit where you can't bite your nails(a good starting time is 30 min). Everyday, add to that time limit anywhere from 5 - 30 min, and pretty soon you should have a tolerance built up, and you won't have that habit anymore.

Put Band-Aids over your fingers, sit on your fingers, etc. Get a good manicure, that always works because you don't want to ruin your nice nails!

get sculpted nails, you'll want to keep them looking nice and they will protect your real nails. once you break the habit you won't need them anymore
