Jennifer is supposed to die (on the show only) and now I just heard the Hal REALLY died. Any scoop on this?

He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. This is such a devastating travesty to the soap world. I would never accept any recast of the role of Hal Munson. Hendrickson was the best!

Benjamin Hendrickson (Hal, ATWT) died suddenly over the weekend. The Emmy Award-winning actor, who had played Oakdale's Chief of Detectives on and off since 1985, was 55 years old.

I am sorry to report but Benjamin Hendrickson killed him self over the weekend. I was very shocked to hear the news. He will be missed. He was a great actor. As of now there is no rush to replace the role of Hal.

I was so shocked to hear about this unfortunate event. I pray his family receives some comfort throughout this time. He will be sorely missed.
