You should be OK... just shower and wash it out well after you get out of the pool. Be VERY VERY careful of anyone bumping it. If you are wearing a one-piece, the suit itself might be so tight as to feel uncomfortable (my ring took over a month before clothing could touch it without feeling sore)
If you are wearing a 2-piece, just make sure nothing comes into contact that might hurt you, or snag on it and pull on it. The area will still be sore and very sensitive, so just make sure to stay away from horseplay and rough stuff in the water.

Swimming with a healing piercing is bad, the bacteria in the water can get into your piercing and cause an infection. Navels take 6 months to 1 year to heal completely so no swimming for at least 6 months

During healing, it is recommended that you don't swim. Chlorine is very harsh on your skin and hair let alone on a healing piercing. Also, public pools have so many germs and pool rules often state no open wounds which is what a piercing is.
Some will say that washing the piercing out really well after swimming is acceptable but once bacteria has entered the blood stream, all the rinsing of the outside of the wound won't get the bacteria out of your system.

Okay, I got my bellybutton pierced at the end of October of last year, And I went to a resort over Thanksgiving break and there was an indoor water park. I went swimming and I had NO problems! Just make sure that you clean it CONSTANTLY because if you don't clean it, it can get infected really easily. After you go swimming, make sure you clean it because there's a lot of chemicals in pools and stuff. Oh, and don't go playing beach volleyball or anything like that (even if you have a shirt on, because you WILL get sand in your bellybutton and it DOES hurt really bad!) I hope that this helps and I hope you have fun!

Sorry but I wouldn't. I have had mine done for 8 years and it has never gotten infected. I would definitely wait at least 4-5 months before you swim (because of the cholorine) and before you do any ab moves (you don't want any stretching or tearing). By the 6th month it should be totally healed and you can change ring. Just remember to turn and clean it at least once a day to keep it healthy.

Dont go into the pool if its still is healing at the first stages. Just try to keep it clean and you might be able to swim. But I wouldn't take any chances if I were you. Infections hurt!

Piercings are so easily infected I would not swim then.Wait till later. In some people they never really get to the point that they heal. My sister's ears never healed and she finally let them grow shut after 8 years of misery.

i have my navel pierced also. it takes about 6 mos. to heal. i don't think it would hurt it. you might want to put sunscreen on it and when you get home make sure to put neosporen on it and clean it well. good luck!
