Experimental military aircraft prototypes are tested. The military doesn't mind much that some people want to believe they are extraterrestrial UFOs, because it helps keep the aircraft designs secret when everyone thinks they are space ships instead of really funky looking airplanes.

Not much of anything anymore. Area 51 has gotten to much publicity. The US governments "Top Secret" test base has been moved to another location. There is speculation that it is in Montana or North Dakota.

if you believe popular myth then alien testing but more true to life is that it is a secret government testing area for the United States Air force. Where they have tested such things as the B2 F117 etc etc

I grew up in NV, and we used to see all kinds of odd things in the sky- "Hey, did you see the UFOs over the mountain last night? Pretty cool."
We know the military was testing all sorts of top-secret planes there, that might sure be all we saw... some fun light shows, though!

no one knows but the people that work there thats why its a secret. but my guess is that they're looking/working on aliens, or working on your brain.
