My aunt had some delicate hand-made doilies that wouldn't come clean - she ended up soaking them in tea so they would still be useable, just a darker color. They were too fragile to bleach, and they looked fine afterwards. Just beige instead of white.

If the tablecloth is white, I'd recommend dabbing straight clorox onto the stains with a q-tip, if the stain is not too large. I got a chocolate stain out of a dry-clean only white dress of my daughter's that I didn't want to have dry cleaned.

You might also try Simple Green which breaks down the tanin in coffee and removes the stain. It will not harm or damage the fabric and you can use it full strength.

According to book I have on stains:
Talking Dirty Laundry by Linda Cobb

1) WINE AWAY - RED WINE STAIN REMOVER
"Don't let the name fool you. It works great on Kool-Aid, grape juice, red pop, cranberry juice, orange pop, coffee & tea as well as red wine."

2) For dried coffee stains, treat with a solution of 50% glycerin & 50% warm water. Rinse & blot well. Treat with laundry presoak prior to laundering.

soak in cool water, woolite and water softener. you can find the water softener in the laundry isle at the grocery store. rinse throughly then add a little bit of fabric softener to the final rinse. air dry. DO NOT place in dryer. It will shrink.

Good luck.

if nothing works, you can always try staining the entire tablecloth with tea or coffee, give it that antique look.

PLEASE!!! DON'T USE BLEACH! There's a white dye you can buy almost any where. Please just put it in water with the dye and lay out flat to dry! Works every time.
