Has anyone ever been prescribed Minocycline for boils? How effective?

I have recently seen the doctor about recurrent boils on my face just under the skin. She prescribed Minocycline pills, which I have seen used for acne. Does this kill the bacteria in boils as well? If anyone on here has used it, how effective was it for you? You also prescribed Differin gel to be used inconjuction with the oral antibiotics.

I do know that Minocycline is used for treatment of acne and so is Differin gel.... maybe she thinks it's acne...idk for sure. Minocycline works well though and isn't as upsetting as Terticylcine. I'm sure it will work in time. Best wishes
