The Civic hybrid gets 49mpg city, 51mpg highway. The Prius gets 60mpg city.

I'd take the Civic hybrid. It's better for the environment yet it doesn't scream for attention.

What makes you think you are going to average 60 mpg in a Civic Hybrid?

I'd figure more like 27 mpg real world for the Eclipse (4 cylinder) and 50 mpg for the Civic.

So over 15,000 miles you'd save $750 with the Civic per year on gas, but you'd be driving a lot slower car that won't handle as well.

Hybrid, Right now I drive a Hyundai Accent, because it saves on gas. (Heck I was trying to save gas before it was an issue)
