you should be able to right click on the pdf file, select "Open with..."

When the new window pops up, select the acrobat program, usually near the top since its in alphabetical order, and check the "Use this program by default" option near the bottom, and click "OK"

OK, here are the following steps if the file is already saved on your PC:

-Right click on the file and go to "Open With"
-If Adobe Acrobat is not already on the list, go to "Choose Program" or "Browse" (whatever it says)
-Scroll and Look for Adobe Acrobat
-If it's there, select it. If not, go to "Other..." and look for the actual "Adobe Acrobat" folder itself. This folder will most likely be in the "Adobe" folder, which is located in the "Program Files" folder. The "Program Files" is located under the Local Disk (whatever yours is, mine is C:).

Good luck.
