The major benefactor of the Alexander Stadium is a member of the Birchfield Harriers athletic club. Many other members also made donations for the financing of this stadium. These private parties have remained however strictly anonymous. And, their specific identities are therefore impossible to find.

But, by far the major source of financing was government funds. Private parties did not play a very major role in the overall financing compared to the mentioned government funds.

The Queen of England did not participate in any of the financing. When she does it is exclusively aimed at charitable organizations. Also, contrary to what people think her cash flow is not that great. Her fortune is essentially held up in expensive real estate (castles, etc...) owned by the Monarchy. But, she can't readily monetize such assets.
