It really depends on what year and model of vehicle that you have. Some of the newer model cars, like Toyotas recommend 5,000 or 6 months, but that is only under normal driving conditions. If you drive in extreme heat, pull a boat or trailer, drive on really steep inclines and etc, then you should definately get your oil changed more often. The older models should be changed every 3,000miles or 3 months. You should also make sure to check your airfilter, brake pads, and tires. These should be a MUST and there are other things that you can do to ensure your vehicle has a long life, check your owner's manual for recommended maintenance. I hope this helps.

If you are talking about an automobile or truck, I say most assuredly. I am ignorant when it comes to airplanes or boats. Oil never wears out. It becomes contaminated and dirty.[more dirty ,more abrasiveness]. There was a guy on TV that used to say,"pay me now or pay me later". I do it every 3000 miles. I have a 99 Nisson four wheeler with 180,000 and it is still going good.

Yes. If you drive super hard or fast, more often. I changed my oil in my dirt track race car every 2 races. We're talking a max of about 70 miles here.

Yes, at least in that area. You should make sure you get regular tune ups though, and take your car to a QUALIFIED mechanic if anything seems off.

You'd be fine...... your just overdoing it...... but you'd be fine....... 3,000 or 3 months is perpetuated by garages and oil companys to sell more oil really......
