He seems to have run from responsibilities. If I were you I would go to the police and find out what you have to do to track him down. They deal with this kind of stuff all the time and would have some idea of how to help you.

Sorry, I'm not a man, but with men, their jobs( and family) are their "identity". It's a pride issue. He is most likely deperessed about the whole situation and figures that if he is unable to provide for his family that they are better off without him. He may very well be trying to sort things out and "find himself", but you need to find him and talk to him. Has he been in contact with a friend or family member? Tell him how much you love him and miss him and that you can get through these tough times together. Appologize for being insensitive. Most likley you were stressed and trying to sort things out in your mind as well and said things that you should not have said. Best wishes.
For those who are assuming that this man ran his business into the ground and left his family, please remember that the job situation thes days is not very good and many businesses big and small are going under due to financial reasons. As much as they might try to cut back sometimes things just don't work out.

I am not a man but I can tell you- he is a dead beat. No one, who loves you, will ever leave you in such a way, especially if there were kids in between. If he was unable to keep a steady job and lost his business then most likely the reason why he is such a looser is because of who he is, it has nothing to do with you. You should not blame yourself for one second about him leaving you.

Man thats a tough one... .. All men need a break. and the time is all different. some only need a few mins a day .. other needs weeks. maybe months. Right now. hes mind is on how to make things better. Hopefully he left with intentions of how to make things better. and not to run away from them... Give it time. .. I'm sure if he if you love him. and .. if he is the man you think he was.. he will comeback... but dont give up on him.. dont yell at him... he doesnt need more pressure.. just need you and your kids to have faith and keep him steady .

The best thing is to remember that marriage isn't something that you only stick with while it's all fun then run when it isn't.Something about the phrase better or for worse.
Supporting him and not driving him away would be a good start.
