MOST of the time yes, however the hymen in active girls can be torn or damaged by simle activies like riding a bycicle. A lot of girls use tampons when they are still a virgin. This too can rupture the hymen a bit making it look (to a gynecologist) like the girl is not a virgin. A lot of the times these tears are not very painful so the girl would not notice.

There's another kicker...A LOT of women are not born with a hymen!

Not sure why you would "need" to know based on a physical thing such as that, but there's your answer. My advice...ask, then trust and believe.

Yes and No. Typically the doctor looks for the hymen which is a small piece of flesh that will tear (usually) her first time. However, there can be trauma that can cause such tearing and also if the guy isn't "packing" he may leave it partially intact. This is not just a POV, I used to ride horses for a living and knew of more than one girl that had the trauma and I know 1 guy who encountered the later. He was with a girl who admitted she wasn't a virgin, but the blood and pain said otherwise.

You are sexist if you think only a woman would know that answer!
Are you the girl? Or a boyfriend?
If you are a BF, what you should be wondering is if you know the person well enough to know if she is a "virgin", other than by having a physical hymen.
And the answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's possible for a girl to lose her virginity by riding a bike, or participating in Gymnastics, etc.
You have to know her well enough to trust her!

A Dr. can tell if the hymen is there or not but they cannot tell what it is from. The hymen can tear from many other things such as tampon use or playing sports. Besides, your girlfriend has the right to her own body and the Dr. cannot tell her personal information if she wished to keep it to herself. It would be an invasion of privacy even if it is her mom. As long as she lets the dr. know that she doesn't want her mom to know, he or she has to keep it a secret. All the Dr. can say is if she is healthy or not!

NO! It's possible for a doctor to see if the hymen is torn or not, but there is no way of knowing how that happened, be it from bike riding, horse riding, a tampon or a penis. And any doctor knows that, okay?
Besides, what the hell kind of physical is she getting where they're poking around in her goodies?

the doctor might be able to tell, but if you are worried about your parents finding out then tell the doctor that. tell the doctor you want the exam done with mom outside of the room and then tell them the truth. dont lie to the doctor and the doctor shouldnt tell you parents unless there is something wrong with the tests.

I am a nurse practitioner, and NO, a doctor cannot tell if a woman has had sex from just a physical. He has to do an internal examination to find that out. So, if she just had a physical.. there's no internal exam there.

All the doctor can tell is if your hymen is intact. While some cultures consider that a sign of virginity, in fact, the hymen can be broken in many ways that have nothing to do with sexual intercourse.

What? Is this really a Mom?

Your daughter needs to acquire trust before she feels comfortable telling you about her habits,

and that is the way to go... communication.

If she's not, don't 'brand' her or ostracize her. Give her guidance and advice if she needs it. And way out the pros and cons of contraception if the topic comes up. Here is a good link.

Medical Science has known for years how to find out if your still a virgin or not. You just need to ask your gp for the examination.
