I see a lot of women who are uneducated and don't have a job, having lots of babies by different men and getting money every week to purchase things. Is our tax money being put to good use?

The government should offer these women the option to have their tubes tied at the state's expense, and to have up to two years of free day care and tuition at a community college, after which the government would help them find a job. If the women turn that down, they should be immediately cut off from all government assistance and their children should be taken from them so they don't learn to live that way and create another generation of lazy, useless humans.

We've made it too easy for people to put their lawn chair out by the mailbox and wait for the check to come in.

We should allow the illegals who are here and working to stay, and kick lazy welfare recipients out and make them live in the slums of Mexico. That'd teach them a thing or two about entitlement!

Actually, if you look at statistics, check and see how many of those on welfare stay on welfare (regardless of the talks about reform). Besides, what I see in my own neighborhood is a lot of ignorance (regardless of race) and that ignorance results in people on welfare, pregnancies, disease, etc.
Anyway, I agree with the person above who said that welfare should be used as a crutch, not a form of life-long income. That means a person should be on the program for 1 year-there are millions of jobs out there, go get one. If you're worried about who will care for the youngsters, perhaps government should work out some options. Of course I believe people down on their luck should be helped but you don't see the government handing out unemployment checks to people for years and years...they only get a couple of them between jobs, like if they got laid off.
Things can always be more organized in terms of a welfare system.

i know i'm going to get a lot of heat for this, but i think you shouldn't be allowed to breed if you didn't finish high school...although they are having kids in the hope that they can all get a job and help support the family. It would be nice for the mother to get a job, but no, they shouldn't be on welfare. Welfare is designed as a temporary crutch to be used to get you back to par in a short period of time. It is unfortunate that many people think of it as a long term wheelchair that they use to get around when they are perfectly capable of walking.

You should have them move in with you instead. Or just use your tax dollars to put those kids in foster care. Or maybe just let her live on the street and beg with the 4 kids being submitted to that. I mean what is your solution? You should get involved inthe welfare system to make changes and improve the system. Like become a social worker.

Absolutely not. I think that welfare is extremely abused in this country. Welfare should be used for people who are down on their luck to help them get on their feet again. It should be set for a finite time period say 6 months or a year with a specific plan in place for them to get a job and support themselves. Welfare shouldn't "reward" them for having additional children.

Research has been done and less than 5% of children were born while their parents were on welfare. Do some research and stop arriving at conclusions by watching the neighbours and not even asking them.

well the only way these women should be getting welfare is if they can;t work meaning they have a medical reason for not working as for the women you see they are just lazy and no they shouldn't be getting welfare

Its the States, not the Government, who decides who gets welfare. The Government have now put limits on it, but alot of the criteria is still up to your individual state. Complain to your congressman.

Let's think of the children involved, for they will suffer if this becomes a thing for debate and ends up taken away from this women.
