England's footballers never accept the blame themselves.
It is always someone else.
In this instance they blamed the Referee & Ronaldo instead of the fact that England did not paly as a team like Portugal did. England played like 11 individual egos.

Er hello.....
We have accepted the defeat. We didnt play well enough until we went down to ten men, and our tactics and formation were all wrong.
But...
That doesnt excuse the pathetic diving and theatricals from Portugal, or the blatant cheating of Ronaldo.
Its not just England fans or the English press who have been outraged by Portugals diving. Its the talk of the whole football world right now and there are calls within FIFA for an investigation.
Portugal's "warriors" as Scolari called them were like an Olympic diving team in every game, and they were so blatant it was almost funny.
If you watched the game against Framce last night you would have heard the French fans (who do not usually get animated about anything) booing Ronaldo every time he touched the ball.
We have accepted that we were not good enough and we are trying to do something about it. Its about time the Portuguese looked long and hard at themselves and ask if they can be proud of that disgraceful series of "simulations".

We do you muppet. Sven has gone Beckham has stood down.We lost, big deal. The issue is Cheataldo he raced over to butt in on something that did not concern him. Rooney was a bit of a spanner but at least the English only go down when they have a broken leg etc. Maybe that is why we loose. If we started to cheat and cry like Cheataldo etc We would progress further. Good luck to France and Italy in the final it would have been a massive injustice if Ronaldo etc had made it to Berlin on Sunday. The fans tonight were giving him stick what does that say about him. England were not even playing, still he better get used to it because next season he will get a load more.

"If you cared to check into things you would know that we accept the loss, that our tactics were not right, that players did not perform. However a couple of things - we drew, with 10 men against a supposed superior side (ah ah makes me laugh) and lost on penalties - but it was a draw. Secondly we are complaining about the blatant cheating of the Portuguese. England play fair, we are honest. Ronaldo is a blatant cheat - the TV shows this, thats why England were not playing tonight and yet he still got boos constantly. Cos everyone knows hes a cheat!"
Nailed it on the head.
If you were an English fan, the YEARS of hurt and awful luck would make you go insane. They cheated, don't you dare say they didn't because they did. The English (and Germans) NEVER cheat because we are honest and don't like to ruin the game which WE invented. FIFA need to crack down on diving... oh wait this is FIFA we're talking about.

Because they cheated. (im not being one of these ignorant english fans. Im being objective) Ronaldo and Figo mainly (in the portugal team anyway) dive and play hurt to provoke cards for the other team. Just to show this isnt just 'sour grapes' from an english fan, look at the game against france. How many times did Ronaldo/ Figo/ Deco/ Postiga/ Miguel go down in total? How long did they waste rolling around? I think i make my point.
So saying that you're probably wondering 'Well, why dont you hate Italy, after all, they cheated to get past Australia' Answer is i do hate Italy. Likewise i hate greece because all they do is cheat (just look at euro 2004)
Ronaldo is probably hated by the english because he got rooney sent off (apparently, a lip reading expert said that ronaldo actually said to rooney before kick off 'im going to get you sent off' dont know how reliable that is.) IN all fairness Rooney got Rooney sent off because hes just an immature little thug. If he wasnt a footballer he'd be a hooligan. But I still dont like how football is just theatre now.

listen as an impartial judge(not English) England deserved to go out. and a lot of the English press is saying that it is pointless blaming ronaldo for the defeat. although Portugal weren't great, they won and that's that. the performances by England during the world cup were substandard.
but ronaldo has been a serial diver all through the competition. this is a man's sport (apart from women's football) and as such it is not good to see a grown man throwing himself to the floor when a gust of wind hits him.. footballers in the 60s and 70s were hard as nails and they would be disgusted to see players throwing themselves to the ground to gain advantage. it is known as cheating.
also, the English love to have a figure of hate. lashing out against ronaldo releases the pent up frustration they have. but hey, its only a game. and when England crash out in the quarters in 4 years time they'll blame someone else.

Well, I'm French and therefore I am very glad the Portuguese lost tonight but after having witnessed Ronaldo throw himself on the pitch on several occasions, crying foul and trying to get the referee to get French players booked I entirely agree with the English.
Then there was the very unedifying spectacle of their manager hectoring the referee at half time. It seems to me that he has trained them to these dirty tactics because they are just not good enough to win otherwise. So to answer your question, I think the English team was very unlucky and deserved to win and we would surely have had a much better semi-final if they had. Ronaldo was booed on the pitch and it was not by English fans.

it was very sad sad to see at half time france v portugal the english presenters dissing the portugal, come on it's not there fault your players don't know how to take penaltys, the english had a chance to win but they blew it.
and stop blaming ronaldo he was playing for his country, you should do all you can to win, and i think you must agree diving is part of the game as long as you don't get caught by the refferee forget what the camera say's.
and i'm sure if man united sell ronaldo any other premier league will snatch him off there hands.

this is for martic are you blind, did you see the game, Roony was an animal....saying that portuguese cheated...how about you French? Do you remember Euro 2000, or this years game....you guys pretend that you get hurt, waste time in the field, then get penalty shot that you don't diserve. and on top of that say racist comments to portuguese. YOUR THE CHEAT that's how you got to the finals anyways you moron. you cheat you always cheat. by crying to the referee.....le bohoooooo, le bohoooo. hey at least .
Portugal got this far without cheating, you guys got this far because you play dirty.
and for HENRY C "If you were an English fan, the YEARS of hurt and awful luck would make you go insane. They cheated, don't you dare say they didn't because they did. The English (and Germans) NEVER cheat because we are honest and don't like to ruin the game which WE invented. FIFA need to crack down on diving... oh wait this is FIFA we're talking about."
i'm sorry did you call yourselfs honest...WOW
you guys have one the cup already wanna talk about luck, the portuguese always get so close but then get screwed over by real cheaters they are called FRANCE and ENGLAND. i tought both of these countries hated each other, but appearantly you guys are like a mad divorced couple (tommy lee and pamela) just can't admit that you love each other.
and how dare the english say bad things towards the portuguese we are, and have been you allies for god knows how many centuries, we're like in good terms, but apparrently you are the one's who betray us by rooting for your so-called enemy the french.
for baldy old git, why don't you english go and get a dentist and fix your rotten teeth?
