i personally love the acoustic version better...its the guitar that gets me.

I like the electric version. The emotion just comes through so much stronger when he's singing her name in that one. I don't get the same feeling from the acoustic one...

I love the electric one way, way better...especially the longer version...with the piano playing in time with the guitar for about 3 to 4 minutes at the end....

The original electric was done with real passion and with Duane Allman who still does not get a lot of credit.
The acoustic version I refer to as "Lame-la"

I like the acoustic version better. I don't know if it is the one you are referring to or if it is the only one, but the MTV Unplugged version is really good

"Layla" (both versions) is so overplayed on "classic rock" radio, it should be permanently banned from the airwaves by the FCC. That, along with "Stairway to Heaven". At least the bureau would then find a useful purpose.

Although, that electric riff at the end is pretty tight.
