take the coast not the I-5..

in Oregon the Sea Lion Caves are a must sea.. a giant wave splashed cave with THOUSANDS of Sea Lions bellowing.. wild!

Lincoln, Or. is a lovely seaside clapboard historic town

Portland and Seattle of course are both worth visiting

Bellingham is quite nice

Vancouver BC of course is spectacular, just outside of the city (south) you might check out the susburb of Richmond for its huge modern Chinatown area and the quaint fishing "villiage" of Steveston

Seattle - Coffee, Great Downtown, Great Food, Take a ride on the Ferry - out to Bainbridge Island and back (Really nice on a clear night), Music, etc

Portland - The Zoo, Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, OMSI, Museums, Restaurants, Stores, etc.

I am guessing you are going to head up I-5 so I would recommend spending some time on the Oregon coast it would be great this time of year. I am from Washinton so if you tell me the towns you are going to stay in I can recommend some places to go.

OR and WA coasts. Drive up hwy 101 and see giant sitka spruce forests, lighthouses, stack rocks, caves, perfect beaches, Columbia River, etc. Get ready to have your socks blown off.

well if you are traveling vehicle....stop at rest spots along the high five...even if its just to snooze, change clothes, walk on trail exercise...they have maps there i found interesting...stop in the most uncommon areas go to corner store by a local paper ask where the local library is....why? just for something different and to see something unigue?

these are not on the coast, but Crater Lake and Mount Saint Helens are both absolutely amazing. they have nice campgrounds too...

the Oregon Coast is magnificent...try to go to Cannon Beach and experience life as it should be..
