You might want to get her gift certificates for a massage or pedicure, this will help her to relax a bit and the pedicure might help her swelling feet from the pregnancy .

I just bought my 27 yr old pregnant woman an mp3 player. Specifically a:
SanDisk SDMX4-2048 Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with SD Expansion Slot
But if you are looking for something cheaper maybe try getting her a message for after the baby is born. A nice little getaway which she'll be sure to relax and enjoy. They are usually only around 45-60$ for an hour or so.

Don't get her any "baby" stuff. She'll probably get lots of that stuff later. Get something for HER. Whether it's perfume or a book or jewelry, make sure it's just for HER. Her life will soon be taken over by this little person that's about to pop out of her. This is probably one of the last times it can be simply about her. So if you get her something that is really for the baby, then it's not for her, is it? She's probaby feeling cranky and tired and fat and everything else. She doesn't need to be reminded that she's been carrying this little guy around for months.

Definitely don't get any baby stuff. She'll get tons of that anyway. This is HER birthday, make it something personal for her, not involving the pregnancy. Nice aromatic candles are nice. Flowers are good. Jewelry is better. It all depends on what kind of relationhip you have with this person, and on how much you are able to spend.

I would get a gift certificate for a massage or a manicure pedicure because I don't think you feel that good or pretty when you pregnate. Or some really stylish maternaty clothes. She'll get lots of stuff for the baby later. Get her something for her.

I was pregnant when my birthday came around this year. The BEST present that I got was from my s-i-l. She gave me 2 gift boxes, one of chocolate truffles and another of assorted teas. Both things I absolutely love!
Save the baby things for the baby shower. Get her something for HER.

A spa or massage certificate that she can use either now or after the birth, when she could use a little pampering!
If that's beyond your budget, perhaps a coupon for some free babysitting?

You should get your pregnant friend a gift card to either toys r us or wal-mart. (Or any store that she make like that sells baby clothing!) You may also in good humor want to give her a card saying that you'll babysit for free one night if she and her husband want to go out. Good luck
