Take two self-centered attention hogs that are used to getting their way all the time, add a wedding ring, and you have the recipe for divorce. Real long-term relationships require more compromise and self sacrifice than most celebrity types are used to tolerating.

With all the pressure of being under the public eye, plus seeing your face on all the tabloids. In addition, if the husband's career isn't doing too well and the wife's career is taking off, the pressure is probably too great. I think a committment that is very deep needs to be made by both individuals. There are marriages that do last, such as Paul Neman and Joanne Woodward.

In order for a marriage to succeed, the couple needs to be committed to the union such that they put each other first. They need to care about each other more than about themselves. Therein lies the rub. Hollywood types tend to be vain and think about themselves more than others. That kind of egocentricity makes a marriage very difficult.

I think because both people are constantly travelling and are usually hundreds if not thousands of miles away filming other films, meeting other actors and actresses. They rarely have time to be together. Also, both realize that they have tremendous power and can have just about anyone they want. Each one isn't as dependent on each other because they both have millions of dollars.

Because a lot of celebrities are selfish and self-centered and immature and don't know what a real marriage or real love is.

Hollywood actors are unintelligent, overpaid, self important people. Actors are incapable of doing anything that does not directly benefit themselves.

They are under constant badgering by "inquiring minds". I would hate to live a life where I couldn't eat where I want, shop where I want and when I want.
They need personal space. Fans won't respect that.
