No, I'm not going to whine about how male players never take me seriously when playing online. But my curiousity has gotten the better of me.

Recently, I went to a Halo LAN party, and got kicked out because I was a girl in a dress that played better than the people I was against. They shrieked, "Get the girl out!"

I found it amusing in a very strange way.

Anyway...the question is directed at male gamers. Do you, personally, have any problems with females playing games or know anyone that does? And what is your logic?

I play with my Mrs. quite regularly. Both co-op and competitively. There are games which I beat her at, and games which she beats me at. It's fun.

I don't understand the gender issues in gaming, either. I can honestly say that I feel no shame in being beaten by her, or 'a girl,' in anyway. It's just video gaming. We all have the same thumbs.

And not only that, but if you're sad enough that you're finding your self worth (and as such, in a position to not want to lose 'to a girl') in video games?

You have a lot more problems than the female who just beat you at Halo.

I have never actually heard of something like what you describe happening. I'm Leader of a JKA(Jedi Academy) siege clan and we don't have very many girls in our ranks. I think thats due to lack of them playing the game more than anything. But everyone likes the two or three we have. I do know that on another forum there were some impolite remarks about one of them. I ended up banning a few people when I found out about it. I would say that there are some people who feel threatened by being beaten by girls. I don't happen to be one of them. As for rank within the clan the girl they insulted happened to be on our Council and had previously turned down a promotion to SC (Second in Command and my former job). So as far as I'm concerned while there are some people who are just jerks there are quite a few decent ones out there.

I would actually rather have more female gaming friends. When you're playing in a 16-player Halo LAN and everybody else in the room is a guy, that's usually a little too much testosterone for me to handle (no I'm not gay just in case you're wondering).

I'm not a gamer, but my old roommate is. According to him and other gamers I know, there's nothing hotter to a male video gamer than a girl who can kick butt with a controller, mouse n' keyboard, or whatever.

I guess it might depend on how old you are. If you're still in high school or something, maybe their testicles haven't dropped yet lol. If you're older, maybe they still live in their parents' basement.

Who knows what their problem is, but it is their problem. That kind of insecurity is just sad. Keep on gamin' if it's your thing.

I'm not a guy, but I'm pretty sure they're just jealous because they were beat by a girl. It's not your fault, just keep joining other parties and see if they accept you. (I think it's a bit sexist that they kick the girl out because they don't want to be beaten by her).

I don't have any problems with girl gamers. In fact, i think the whole gaming community could benifit if there were more girl gamers!

I rarely find girls who play video games so I approve of it...it is awsome to have friends that are girls who love video games!
