I went to a tinny public school in Keyes, Oklahoma. It's in the panhandle.
There were only other 12 people in my class from 3rd grade to graduation.
It was a boring place to grow up, but I got a good education. 13 to 1 student/teacher ratio's not bad. My cousins in Kansas City had a 30/1 ratio, and graduated with 3 or 4,000 from one school.
I've known many home schooled kids and they were all smart people. BUT!, the ones who didn't have outside the home social activities during their schooling got quickly lost in the world after they left home. They were easy marks for the people users.
The ones that had out of the home social skills did just fine.

I was homeschooled 3rd through 12th grade. I definitely think it has it's advantages! I always had really high SAT scores and did very well in college...and I'm not the "nerd" type... BUT it also has it's downfalls. If I hadn't been involved in my youth group (which did alot OUTSIDE of church as well), then I would be slower to agree that homeschooling is beneficial. You have to make sure that the kids still get plenty of interaction with other kids. There is so much these days in public schools that is bad for kids that it really makes me tempted to homeschool my own when the time comes!

I live in a small town, about 30,000. We had 5-7 public elementary schools 1 public jr. high, 1 private jr. high, and 1 public high school. I went to one of the biggest elementary schools ( about 45 per grade) and I loved it. When we merged into the Jr. High, I already had a lot of friends and knew how to make new friends. And when we went to the high school, the private school kids we're so lost! They became the "losers and outsiders" pretty fast because they didn't have very good social skills. I can't imagine how hard college will be for them. Our town recently got a "Charter" school and a lot of the kids who had problems in regular school are doing really good there. And just so you know one of my friends was homeschooled until high school and she likes public school way better.

I attended a Catholic private school from kindergarten through 8th. We wore uniforms, prayed before every class, and it was very strict. There was only about 50 kids in the graduating class. I learned a lot about my religion, but it was expensive, so my parents aren't quite sure it's worth it. I am going to attend a Catholic high school in August, which is even more strict. My parents did it for the religious moral upbringings, and I think it's safe to say I have morals.

for pre-k i went to public school then kindergarten through seventh grade i went to private school and eighth grade back to public school. im going to the ninth grade and im still in public school.for pre-k i only stayed in public school for 2 weeks.
when i enrolled back in public school it felt kind of different even though i was at a school with 3 of my cousins. i was in the eighth grade and they were in the 6th and 7th grade on different hallways. but when i met different people they became my friends and after 3 days i wasn't feeling scared or left out anymore. i got used to it and i was talking to mostly everybody at school. then i had to make another transition at school at school without being there a month i moved to gifted classes. i only kept 3 regular classes p.e. home ec. and science. then i met even more friedns in gifted now i have more friends than i can keep up with. i think im use to public school now after one school year an d 2 weeks there.

I went to a tiny little private alt. education middle school.
And i'm attending a public admissions high school (you have to take a test to get in and maintain at least a 2.5 GPA to stay in).

Elementary, Highschool. Don't be anti-social! Being home school makes you less socialable.
