My neighbors want to clean their gutters. The outsides of them are as black as my Nike's. I will not clean the eves. Just the gutters around the house.

Ask them to pay you an hourly rate, plus any materials cost. That way you won't undercharge or overcharge, and they will know exactly what they are paying for.

If this is the type of thing you expect to do for a lot of people, then track your time and materials carefully. Then divide the total amout of your cost by the linear length of the gutters. For example, you work for 10 hours at $15/hr and use $15 worth of cleaning agent, for 120 feet of gutter. Divide $165 by 120 ($1.375). Round to $1.50 to cover for your estimating time and travel. The next person asks you to clean gutters for 140 feet of gutters, bid $1.50 x 140 = $210.

2. Call a comptetitor if you can and ask them how mu`h they charge.
3. Take it from there!

Depends on how bad you need the money,if you need it you have to be the lowest bidder,thats how all co's. get going and word of mouth by happy customers can get you alot of work.
