Love could mean a lot of things, depending on how you give and receive it. If you are unhappy because he doesn't love you, leave him, you'll meet someone who deserves your love.

Love ABSOLUTELY means something.
But what you're learning is that your loving someone does NOT guarantee that the object of your love will love you in the same way or love you at all. It's a double-bummer when you realize that BUT when it sinks in you then have a choice: leave or stay. Stay and hope he will come to love you. Leave and find someone else.
Even when you DO find someone with whom your love is "equal" it will fluctuate. At that point the success of your relationship depends on how much you two are committed to it. You will be happy. You will be sad. You will be disappointed and hurt but you will also be almost unbearably happy.
Love is life. Life is love.

I totally know how your feeling....I've been in love with the same guy for 5 yrs.....he says he loves me as a "friend" but nothing more....even though we did go out for 3 1/2 yrs.......we have also fooled around in between the off times....I don't think I will EVER get over him and it's crushing me......I feel sooooo lost most of the time...I wish I could find someone else but I'm not easily attracted to too many people, I'm just not one of those women that can go out there and date anybody.....sometimes I wish I were though....I think Love does mean EVERYTHING but unfortunately not to everybody....and sometimes not with the ones that we really want....
Good luck to you!! Chin UP!

I am sorry about love giving u a hard time, but don't give up, the right person will soon come along, and it will be definitely worth the wait. Nothing happens before its time. From personal experience, I was searching until I realize he was always there. I was just looking in the wrong direction. Good luck !

Sex must be pretty good if you all stayed together this long. He sounds like he is emotionally unavailable to me. Love is much more if two people love each other. It takes two for love to become a reality... you are still in a dreamworld.. leave him.. you deserve better. You treat yourself better and you will find someone better.

You need a lot more than love to have a good relationship BUT you at least need love. Without love none of the rest matters.

do not waste your time with someone who cannot even appreciate the love that you give him. you deserve someone better. i was with a guy for seven years. on our 5th year, i felt him drifting away. i held on. one day i came home, he wasnt there anymore. i have no idea where he was. two weeks after, i learned from a friend that he's already with someone else, married. they always say, set him free and he'll find find his way back to you. if he doesnt, then be happy, at least you taught him a very good lesson... to love unconditionally.

I think the meaning of love is only truly realized once you have met the person that you were meant to love. And if your boyfriend doesn't love you after a year.... well.... Its up to you what to do! Has he ever loved you?
