Can I place and receive calls through Skype or Yahoo! Voice over a Wi-Fi network with the latest Wi-Fi compatible Nokia phones (or 3G mobile phones from any other manufacturer).

Alternatively, any suggestion on how I could use my Yahoo!Voice UK phone number (+4420...) while away in the US?

I only know about the N80: Yes this would be possible, with the right software. Such software is being developed right now. I don't know whether this is network specific software or that universal SIP-clients will be available. With the latter, you can use it with any provider using the SIP protocol.

I have not managed to get VoIP to work on my wifi at all, with headset or cordless internet phones (the one I tried was 70.00). They both cut out after a few seconds.

The app Textfree with Voice is an app that makes use of your wi fi connection to verify telephone calls. you start up out with 10 unfastened minutes and could purchase greater for terribly inexpensive. all your incoming calls are unfastened basically outgoing is what you're charged for. I even have this app on my I touch and it works super. i take advantage of it greater for texting yet have used it for telephone calls as properly. I checked and this app is available for an Android telephone as properly. once you place up your account you're given a number of telephone type ideas to come to a decision from. examine it out and notice what you think of.
