Hi...I'm a coin dealer in the Midwest. 1945 is a relatively common date Lincoln Cent. Values on it range from a few cents for a used one to about $10 for a near perfect Uncirculated one. Cents made this year were made from copper that was salvaged from recycled shell casings. This was done because of metals conservation during World War 2.
You can take it to your local dealer to have him look at it, but frankly if it's just in average condition, it's only worth a few cents. Keep it as a conversation piece. And don't clean or polish it; you will ruin any value it might have.
Hope this helped.

In perfect condition, it's worth about $15.00, but it's not really that scarce of a coin, so you may be able to get a buck for it if it's in fairly good condition.
