I'm going to be on a tennis and soccer team for a college club team. Do you think a jock strap would be good or the briefs with the built in cup?

For soccer and tennis a cup is not necessary. A jock really isn't necessary either. There is not a lot of contact. All the pro soccer players wear briefs or sliding shorts. And the tennis players wear briefs. So buy some athletic briefs and you will be just fine.

Boxers are never good when playing sports because they don't give you any support. Briefs and boxer briefs are the best because of the support, but I would personally choose briefs because boxer briefs curl up, and getting the bigger sizes to prevent that cuts down on the support

Most schools require that you wear a jock strap. When I used to play tennis I wore a jock strap with breifs over it

Jock straps can cause chaffing. Go with the snugging briefs.
