A friend of mine had a hysterectomy, and began bleeding. She too thought it was a period, until she realized there was nothing left inside her. She went to the hospital, and thank goodness she had. The blood was due to something rupturing in her urinary tract. Se needed surgery, and fast.
There may be other reasons for the bleeding. Go back to the GYN and make sure you get the answers you need!

There is no period after a hystectomy. Vaginal bleeding 25 yrs. later is not a good sign and she needs to see her GYN *immediately* to have neoplasm or malignancy ruled out.

WIthout a uterus, I don't see how it would be possible to have a menstral period. Must be something else.

If you are bleeding from the vagina, it is not a period. When you have your uterus removed, you no longer have the equipment you need to have a menstural period. Are you sure its vaginal?
