I suppose that if your truck is caring enough, you can do whatever you want with your groceries.

All trucks (1/2 ton 3/4 ton and 1 ton ) use truck axle's and you can carry up to a 1/2 ton worth of stuff so there is more purpose for a 1/2 ton truck than carrying groceries ( pulling boats, trailers with cars on them etc.) The 3/4 ton and 1 ton are for carrying heavier weights more often like on a daily basis

Yes, half ton trucks are made for caring up to a half ton of groceries regardless of which axel (or axle) they come with. They are also made for carrying up to a half ton of groceries, and I suspect that's what most of them are used for, and that only the minority are used at construction sites or for heavy hauling.

I think you can carry just about anything want in them. Now, if you you tried carrying groceries in a 3/4 ton, well that is all together a different story.
