OKay. I bought a domain and I have the site, but how do I make it so that when you type the url in, my site comes up?

All of this is not neccessary.Just change the index.html with your own.

1. Signup for a Hosting Account - say from Godaddy.com, Pair.com etc..
2. They would give you FTP Account information (Username, Password)
3. Use a FTP tool to upload the website you have created to the public_html folder on the server.
4. Make sure you have atleast one file named index.htm in your set of web pages.
5. Type your URL and verify if your site opens up correctly.

You have to set up a DNS record to translate your URL to the IP address of your site.

You:
1: ask your webhost (who has your website) what their name servers are.
2: Login to your domain management control panel, at your domain registar's website. Set the Name servers/DNS records to your host's name servers.
3: Use your website control panel (with your website) to add the domain to your account, or ask your webhost's support to transfer it to them.

when you registered the domain name you should have done what no one else does. you should have read their help page.
