I do the same thing with notes and chords when I play in an ensemble. C is sky blue, D is tan, E is reddish black, etc. I sort of can't turn it off, but it helps me to find a pitch easily.

I often associate songs with whatever was going on while I was listening to it, maybe you were doing something with that color when you heard the song, I don't know.

no, but i bought a perfect pitch course that is supposed to give me color hearing, but i haven't gotten it to work yet.
