How long is a career to become a researcher biology or genetics. How much do they get paid?

I used to be a researcher in a genetics lab. I had a 4-year degree from a regular university. But, I didn't get to choose my own research projects (I did the actual research experiments and whatnot, but my boss was the brains behind the operation). To be in charge, you have to have your PhD, which can take an additional 4-6 years.

I was paid $30,000/year right out of school. I think that PhDs make $60,000-$80,000.

Your best bet is to find a job in this career with the government.talk to a counselor at your college.

basically 6 yrs and lots of hard work.. n they are highly paid more then $80,000 do some research on it!
