It truly depends on your interest and confort levels are to join a club, but I LOVE DRAMA! Just look at my name and profile, it is my life. Most schools do a play and a musical a year. If you love acting or want to be more comfortable with public speaking, plays are for you. Like to sing, dance and make a fool of yourself? Musicals are the perfect thing. I think that Drama is great for any person, race, gender, sexuality, talent - doesn't matter! Theatre kids are goofy and fun, some have egos, but you learn to ignore them. They are a great crowd. You reherse, you mess up, you laugh, you get it right, you build memories on a stage. As long as you are enjoying yourself and leearning and building friendships, you will like it.
The plays and musicals are full length usually and require lots of rehersal time (depending on a role).
Start now to ensure tope roles as a senior.
AND ENJOY IT!!!
Theatre is my life and I love to get ppl into it and have them love it too!

Drama club is a lot of fun. In most cases, the school puts on one musical production a year that goes up around the spring time, but you start rehearsing in the fall.

Be prepared for a LOT of drama. You need to be dedicated and stick with it once you get involved. Besides acting you can do costumes, lighting, set design etc.

The week before the show goes up is usually dress rehearsal week called "hell week" we would start rehearsing after school and end at midnight.

There is a lot of pressure if you get a part to learn the script, acting, etc. But it's really fun. In my opinion, there is no better feeling then taking a bow at the end of the show.

Good Luck!

My high school drama club days provided tremendous fun, great friends and wonderful memories. We were a relatively small group that did everything and ended up producing some really fine productions.

Drama clubs can be fun depending on who you are. If you enjoy acting, being on stage, and being with other people, then it's definately fun. It also can depend on your role in the play and what the play is about.

Absolutely! Drama club in high school led to my career as a teacher of theatre arts. Now I get to lead other high school students into a love of live theatre.

Besides acting, you can also get involved in work in makeup, costuming, set building, lighting -- there's lots to do besides acting. You'll also make lots of friends.
