To bring down a fever naturally, Dr. Ni recommends a tea made of boiled gypsum.Fever is not a disease but rather a symptom of an illness.Acetaminophen reduces fever and pain but not inflammation.Ibuprofen (Children's Motrin, Pediaprofen, Advil) reduces fever, pain, and inflammation. Follow the package instructions. Bottom line, you need keep an eye on the fever, drink lots and lots of liquids, and watch the "child or adult" for outside symptons that increase the fever (chills, delirium, etc.) Many times, the fever is the body's way of getting rid of a pesty virus. Many people think that tepid baths may do the trick - they can help cool the body down some, but the work is actually going on inside......

Ice pack to the back of the neck.

Alcohol rub.

Cool (not cold) bath.

Any fever reducing medicine but aspirin (concerns for Rhys syndrome there)

6 oz of water every 1/2 hour

Bundle up after all of these and sweat it out.

Tylenol or Motrin and a cool bath. If that doesn't work sponge bathe with ice water. If neither of these things work, you need to call the doctor.

dont do it unless it lasts for more than 24 hours. fevers are there to destroy pathogens and need to be left alone. if it runs for more than 24 hours take tylenol and call the doctor.
