The most successfull people I have seen that were new and made friends did it one of two ways. Either they were quite and friendly at first and little by little opened up as they found what group they fit in with. Or they found somebody to pick on and make themselves popular with the bullies. Loudmouths always are unpopular. Be yourself, be confident, leave the past behind you and open up little by little. Don't be too shy or too outgoing, fit in. If somebody teases you laugh it off and don't let them see how you really feel. Never, never let someone know what you are really thinking until you know you can trust them. Never let someone have the keys to your heart until you know they can drive!

I had to start a new school, too. It is kind of scary at first, but once you get to know the new people, it's fine. Just start talking to people, and they will talk back. Be nice and be yourself and you'll make a lot of new friends!!

when i changed schools once ... it was hard and i went about my days and just went home ... and i gradually opened up to the people that i thought were the most interesting and somewhat intelligent ... and ended up being accepted by all the clicks ...

If you are a boy kiss the cutest girl and introduce your self as James Bond.

And...
If you are a girl tell the person closest to you that you watched Superman Returns.
I am pretty sure this will make friends for you.

Patience, a new person that's too outgoing may be viewed as flirty, aggressive or a clown. They are curious about you and trust me, their curiosity will win out. Once they make the move to get to know you, you will be able to examine their character and motives and then respond however you see fit.
