I hate that corporation! Don't worry, there are people on your side. I NEVER shop there purely for those reasons. There are numerous studies showing that Walmart could raise employees' salaries and give them better health benefits without damaging their profits or raising prices. It's just cruel for the corporation not to do so.

Because it is the definition of the american dream. Wal-mart started out as a small corner store in Arkansas in the 1960's. Now its a global empire that employee more people then any other company. Only the US government employ more people.

Because they have low prices. Always.

Mainly because the American people only worry about problems that apply to them. If they don't work at Wal-Mart, then they don't care how the people that DO work there are treated. Just look at how we handle Global Warming: nobody is doing anything because it won't really affect them in their life time!

actual, if low end workers began making a lot extra, the cost of things and amenities may skyrocket. it quite is termed inflation. So if minimum salary is $16 an hr for instance, then a $a million hamburger at McDonalds may now fee $2 or $2.50. so that you'll make $16 an hour, yet when it buys a similar, then all that is is a special volume to stay a similar way.

I think they are not admired, but people like that store because they sell things at low low prices, and it's family friendly. I go there to get just about everything, and honestly I would figure if they treated the employees like that than they wouldn't be one of the largest retail outlets around? That's just my opinion.

Why do you think Wal-Mart is admired? The stock is discussed quite a bit since years ago it rose in price dramatically.

People want stuff cheap, no matter who it exploits. So that's why people shop at Wal-Mart, despite their history.

That's why sweat shops exist in the garment industry. That's why undocumented immigrants are often limited to low-paying jobs. Supply and demand.

most people do not know the way WM treats the employees. they also shop there because its the one-stop shopping place. its just easier and more convienient. i dont think it would make a difference in peoples shopping habits if they did know the behind the scenes action. i have relatives that work for WM. i know how it is.

Work is work. If people want better pay, better benefits, then they should go back to school/college and study for a better career.
