For me: Louisville, Kentucky. Dumpy, rude, impolite, racist. It sucked! If you're not from Louisville or haven't lived there for at least five years, good luck trying to get along there. Folks in Alabama and Mississippi are FAR more open-minded (just to disspell the stereotypes that Southerners are hicks,) and those in New York and Ohio are friendlier. If you move to the Louisville area, move to a surrounding community, like Elizabethtown or Shelbyville.

This is tough...for so much is demographs and perspective. I am in Akron...and have found it to be the most 'UNHELPFUL" place I have ever lived....yes I was called a Yankee, with snarls, in Texas....but Akron Ohio is THE city wherein I have NEVER met so many people who WANT ..even the friends I came out to stay with. They monitored me, my phone calls, snipped my phone wires and I ended up in ER..I MOVED...in one day...I pay now less rent....and will be planning a move to somewhere I can live and feel a true sense of humanity. It is as I said case by case...even the police here are rude(Mostly, but not all)..but then they call this the Heartland...to me it has been the HEARTLESS land. I have Cancer and kidney stones, and NOT one person has come to my aid, if there were two, I paid them lavishly for a ride to a doctor. I lay no blame...it is NOT a place schooled in domestic violence...and it should be as it is a Metro area...I have NEVER experienced such violence in my life & prejudice as well ..pathetic......from religion to religion and the supersticions are phenomenally sad...There is poor schooling....children are NOT taught well to read herre..and they suffer behind clkosed doors..cannot even call the department of human services to explain a child is beig beaten...as the services they provide are worse than the domestic violence than experienced at hime. I WQILL be moving...take a Hint....stay away from Akron Ohio.....IF you have a brain, a dream or a heart. I am from hawaii, cal, and many other paces...there is little laughter here......wordse than the south (S.C.)~again case by case, however yu asked and theis is my reply....in ONE year I have met ONE person who is an ear to my litanies..and i am NOT known as a complainer.
Please wish me well......and I am greatful that I saw this question.....as a Writer Akron wil have its own chapter.
Humanism is NOT prevalent here. SO NOT AKRON!!!!! I am now searching fr where is the best place to live.....and trust me I will...
Lastly to anyone else, I feel for you....and if I could wipe away your tears I would......and so it goes...Thank You.obably see yo un Cape Cod.....you will never need a hallpass to say hello to me and garner a smile and a straight look in the eyes....Be Well All.

Fortunately, I have never lived in a place that I didn't like. Your home is what you make it to be. If you are an unhappy person, I guess everything sucks. People with negative attitudes are naturally hard to get along with. I wish you luck with your future plans. Find a job you have interest in and get involved in the community. I guarantee you will find people you enjoy being around. Think positive. Life is too short to be unhappy. Let me be truthful, I don't like living here in the Louisville area in the winter when it is snowing and below 40 degrees. I like the warm weather. Have a great day.

Albuquerque, New Mexico!! It's gotten terrible. We lived across from a nice park in a nice part of town and my daughters started finding syringes, used condoms, pipes, etc. There isn't a day go by that there aren't 3-4 killings. People are rude and hateful. I hate it. I'm just waiting to move back to the Midwest. Right now, we at least got out of Albuquerque and live on the other side of the mountain about 30 minutes out of town. It's so much nicer.

I used to live in Jacksonville, NC. I went to school at UNC-Wilmington...yep, for those of you not there: it's a one hour drive one way from home to campus. A one hour drive through no where at the time on that little, back road. It was always under construction. Wonder if they ever finished it! It was the worst place I ever lived because it's a military town and while I love the military and support them, living with them is another issue.

I would say northbound US95 in New York. You drive for hours with not restrooms in site then wait for a very long time to go thru the tole booth . You get off the interstate and no one seems to have a working restroom that you can use. We all need to use the restroom but some places forget that. It is like give me your money but forget it when nature calls.

Memphis, TN: Rude drivers; people are judged by what part of town they live in, where they work, and what kind of car they drive. My step-dad lived in one of the poorer areas, and he had a heart attack. It took the ambulance 45 minutes to get there. He died, and someone at the hospital took his wallet off his lifeless body. It would never have been that way in Germantown!

This is going to sound strange, but Kihei, Hawaii. Hawaii is beautiful, but the people there do very little. It's a wonder it's stayed a tourist destination. It's very expensive, and you can't get anything done there. The people are way beyond lazy.
