I was wondering if there were any symptons. Also, how often should I use those ovulation tests? Once a week, everyday?

I just want to emphasize that I'm asking how i can tell if i'm NOT ovulating because I haven't been able to get pregnant.

Best suggestion is to read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Wechsler. There are lots of signs that point to ovulation--this book is a great resource for learning about them all and how you can make them work for you.

Long cycles are usually a sign that you are not ovulating. If your cycles are very irregular and long and you have been missing some months then I would think you are probably not ovulating. There is an ovulation predictor that is great, I used it and got pregnant the month I used it it is called Fertile Focus Microscope, it is very affordable and you can use it every day as many times as you want. It is a saliva test, great product, if you decide to use the sticks, I would suggest you to use them every day since you don't really know when you will be menstruating, and remember a pee ovulation stick will be positive only if both lines are a dark, the pee sticks usually show two lines but one is always lighter and it would be hard to tell that is why I just bought the FF microscope. Good luck.

Ovulation problems can be present even if you're getting periods - sometimes they are erratic and have no pattern - they can last longer than 7 days, be very short, or be absent entirely. If you are overweight or underweight your body can stop ovulating in order to protect itself from an unhealthy pregnancy. If you've got any endocrine disorders with the thyroid, pituitary gland, etc this can also inhibit ovulation. And let's not forget that STRESS can also stop this delicate process... Read up on Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and of course, see your doctor - better yet - a Reproductive Endocrinologist! Best wishes!

I would say you are not ovulating if you are not having a period. Only other reason for not having period is that you are pregnant. That is why you have a period..you have ovulated......not been impregnated and uterus rids contents because egg not fertilized. How old are you and have you always had regular periods? Sounds like you are possibly trying to conceive?

This site has a ton of info.

Like testing around 2pm, and which day of your cycle is the most likely day depending on how long your cycle is.

Look around, a bit.

This second link is the same site, but referring specifically to fertile and non-fertile cervical mucous. It tells you how to figure it out.
