The term I think your looking for is De ja vu. It is definetely an interesting phenomenon that occurs in the human brain. Studies have shown that De ja vu occurs more often in the rapidly developing brain as opposed to the slowly deteriorating one, that is, it is more commonly a phenomenon found amongst teenagers as opposed to older adults. The primary theory that is put forth about De Ja vu and the reason that it might more so affect the developing brain is that when information is processed through the CNS via the external senses, input can be recieved twice from two seperate directions. For example, when your auditory nerves pick up signals from your ears, they relay the information via the thalamus to the temporal lobe of the brain. However, since all human beings have two ears [hopefully :)] the information gets relayed from two different directions and may actually be processed twice, therefore producing the effect of having heard the information before, or De Ja Vu.

Deja Vu

Well, it's deja vu (ignore the ignorant **** who thinks the little accent marks are of significant importance, making every other answer wrong... "deja vu" is how it is spelled in our language and many others. It's not ignorance, mon ami, it's English.)

Another cute response referred to it as "history"... more appropriately, I'd have answered "History repeating itself".

By the way, we have a "psyche", but I'm unfamiliar with the term, "psychy". Back to the books, aye?

Oh, and to one particular young lady... it's karma (or, kamma), but not carma. No biggie but it certainly doesn't have a place in this discussion, as it was put.

Hey, watch "The Matrix", if you haven't seen it... great movie (I love Carrie-Anne!)... anyway, watch for the lil black kitty in a doorway in the middle of the movie to get yet another explanation for deja vu (science fiction).

Well the definition is Deja Vu... but the meaning behind it is this.. there is no such thing as time.. time is a mathmatical concept.. math fails. every point in space has in infinate ammount of centers within each center.. hence.. math fails.. and since time is math based.. time does not exist.. so here it is.. we happen to percieve a uniform reality in a linear format for some reason. but now and then we see the "future" because we did it all at once already. because there is no past present of future.. its all ONE and that is why you think youv been there before.

It is a phenomenon known as De Ja Vu. There are many speculations as to the cause, alot of them stem from subconcious recollection of specific paxst events and the similarities between those events and the current event. Your mind stores alot more info than you realize and it is really not accessible to you unless triggered by a stimulus. That is one theory about De Ja Vu. It is information stored in your brain that you think you have forgotten until something triggers it and brings it back up to your concious mind.
