I was using money orders, however, one got 'lost in the mail'...and I found out it is at the discretion of the money order company, whether or not to refund the full amount. I have heard of prepaid credit cards. Do I need a bank account? Has anybody had experience with them? Is there some method out there that allows me to purchase it, mail it, trace it, and stop payment for refund if anything happens?

I cant get an account because my ex-husband, a drug addict, committed fraud with our account. I am currently paying off a couple thousands dollars in debt created by him, and until I do, I CANNOT get an account

Unless it's impossible, get a checking account. Many are free. FREE

But if that's impossible, enter into a contract with a friend that allows you to share their account or something. But get everything in writing so there's no confusion. Maybe even notarize it or something.

Just send money orders, but use priority insured mail with delivery confirmation.
