Kids are grown, but come to visit yearly. Any suggestions??? We'll be working in the area on the West Loop near Memorial Park.

I would say Briar Grove Park or Briar Grove. Both neighborhoods are very close to Memorial. Briar Grove Park would probably be more in the 200K price range. Good luck!

If you're looking anywhere in Houston, The Woodlands is wonderful. It's full of trees and keeps traffic away. They really keep the area up here. Beautiful houses for 200k all the way up. It is an upper class area, and just a nice community. You should research the area, I'm sure you'll like what you find. :)

I would go for a condo in the Galleria area. With $200K you could get a penthouse! No maintenance, concierge service, etc. easy access to loop and memorial park and once the construction is finish should be really nice!

Spring Shadows--it's a litte farther out than Spring Branch but nicer.

It is amazing that in a city this large you can still get a great house for 200K. I guess its the break we get for tolerating the heat, humidity, and flooding!

Spring Branch...Westview / memorial city. Lots of houses on Westview up for sale... They are about to call the area the New Spring Branch Woods. Soon to be skyrocketing.

Spring and Woodlands are the best (and yes, high ground). And someone mentioned Imperial Oaks -- I know several families in that community....All vow to live there forever. Very nice neighborhood! Woodlands can be pricey, but DEFINITELY worth it!!!!!!!
