Gotta laugh or else we'll cry,
Gotta live or else we'll die,
Instead of low, let's all get high,
Enough of rhymes, so long bye bye...

lol - no idea where that came from. Kurt was pretty much on the money there - but it's not just exhaustion and frustration that bring about both laughter and tears, it's any sudden change in emotional state - relief, devastation, grief, orgasm (some people...I'm told!), sudden appreciation of beauty in nature, art or life - all have the capacity to bring tears and laughter both. It's a human response to want to express the emotion-rush in some physical way, and a laugh or the loss of tears fits the bill equally well.

Absolutely, many people laugh inappropriately when they are frustrated, tired, sad, scared, etc. One usually expects to see tears in those situations but individual reactions can vary to include laughter as a response to frustration and exhaustion.

Yes they are, and oddly enough both are responses to pain as well. Oh and embarrassment also. You can tell a lot from the laugh, not as much from the tears, they are a bit trickier to distinguish.

Yes, for me tears are. It is so frustrating to be in an arguement and cry cause I am frustrated. It's a catch 22 for me.

Of course they are. Everybody has a way of dealing with stress and pressure. Emotion is a good way to release these tensions, I like to call it emotionally throwing up. I know it sounds gross but if you take the time to work those emotions threw your system you will feel much better, and you will be more at ease.

When I'm exhausted and frustrated, I turn to Mabel. This results in laughter, followed by tears........

Both responses can be a reaction to the emotions of frustration and honesty.

either way, when there is emotion involved it can result in tears.
I try hard not to cry when I am frustrated, but sometimes you just gotta let it out.
I cry when I am happy and I cry when I am sad.
I wonder if our body knows what it is doing!
