I know you can not call a Zamboni a Zamboni in a book unless you have permission from Zamboni, which I do not. So what do I call it?? And how would you spell it because I have tried a few ways and my computer does not like it?

The best one is "Ice Resurfacing Machine" which is in essence the description of a Zamboni. Ironically most of them are built on the chasis of a Bronco or larger sport utility vehicle and ONLY use Ionized Water in the Scraping and Flooding of the ice surface.

Call it whatever you want to call it and let your publisher worry about the legal stuff.

Seriously.

The writer's job is to write and not get caught up in petty details. You'll never finish your book if you get hung up on stuff like this, and no agent, editor or publisher will mind or worry if your manuscript comes in with words like "Coke" or "Zamboni" or "Post-It" in it. Really, gospel. I swear.
