B/c they are morons.
Well the anti gay thing might be offensive to some people.
Personally, I think you should write about anything you want to. I mean you "cannot please 100% of the people 100% of the time".
Just do what you want, it's what I do. =) Some people like me and some people don't. The one's that don't can just **** themselves.
I suggest that you stop trying to be a crowd pleaser or you'll always be unhappy.
I have to say that the whole thing about "a few curse words" might have put a negative spin on your song. If you want to be a goody-goody, then leave out the curse words. If you leave them in, you might as well be rapping about money and hoes (or at least that's how the general populace is going to view this situation). Either it's family friendly or it's not, ya know? Curse words are not family friendly....Totally up to you dude.
Good Luck!

There are some things that you might avoid. I think that if you have TOO MANY issues, then you narrow your audience. As others said here. Being Anti-gangs, Anti-drugs and Anti-Bad guys can be a cool thing. But when you mix Anti-gay or Anti-abortion or other issues, you reduce your FAN base.
Corruption is considered to many as a victim-less crime. But these FAT CATS gotta go.
Bad Corporate leaders gotta go too. Sing a song about the late not-great Ken Lay of Enron fame. Use all the CUSS words that you want.

Personally, I'm not offended by any lyrics in rap. I'm simply offended by rap itself. Being a musician, I find it hard to believe that anyone could, or SHOULD, make scads of money with little or next to no talent. And rap is the lowest common denominator in that equation. Bad poetry put to a horrid pre-programmed beat on a $20 drum machine is nothing to brag about.
Music should be left for the creative to be appreciated by the common... Not the other way around.
Nothing personal, but please expand your horizons, and send your message the right way, through song, not claptrap.

Well peole may may get offended with your gay lyrics, rather they are striaght or not, because when something is "anti" it is against it. And in this type of society, the word anti can be considered very hateful towards something. So people may think that you are promoting hate with your lyrics and other messgaes.

Because our heads have been poisined by rappers who talk about f**king hoes all day, selling crack to eleven year olds, husslin, driving gold plated Cadillacs and killing people.
So the people who have built their life and culture off of that, well, they just don't feel like giving it up.
I'm so glad I'm just ME.

Well, if you thought being gay was a good thing, you would be offended.
And sometimes people lump all music of one genre together without even trying examine individual songs.

You answered your own question. Probably most of the people who are offended are gangs, wanna be's, drugies or dealers or gays.....or maybe they just don't like rap. Who cares...if YOU like it...sing it.

Because many people are very ignorant. But you might want to rethink the anti-gay thing. I mean, you are entitled to your own opinions but who are you to say that gay people are "bad people"?

Anti gay? Why is it bad to be gay? So gays are "bad people." I can see why people are offended by your music.
