A hunter/jumper? I'm taking it registration isn't an issue.
Dapple gray usually doesn't stay dark - grays lighten with age.
So how about

Grayland isn't a bad name. There's a local hunter/jumper trainer with a horse named Graystone that he's training for the olympics. In my opinion, a solid one word name will sound more professional in the hunter/jumper ring.

If he isn't registered I kinda like his barn name. I do small shows sometimes and I do hear some one word names. Let me tell ya the announcers appreciate it when you give them something easy
