People love to believe the unknown and that which cannot fully be proved.. they seem to get an excitement in figuring it out and seeing if THEY (the almighty that they are) can actually PROVE it.

The Christ died a long time ago. The Bible no longer satisfy the need of today's people. It never did anyway! Every age needs a Living Teacher. This Teacher must be able to live in the physical universe and must be able to take his students into the Cosmic Worlds to establish themselves. People yearns for love. Living love. The Da Vinci Code is just a prop. It will soon pale out. But The Teacher is around. Let the World find Him.

I don't know that "many people" believe the Da Vinci code and not the Bible. I'm not convinced the Bible is much more believable. Of course, the Da Vinci code is a work of fiction. It's more amazing to me that people would get so worked up about the possibility that it could be true. It seems to fly in the face of the misogynist of our mainstream religions, i.e., that a woman could be a spiritual leader of the church. Imagine that?

The Da Vinci code shows a writer view of possible flaws in the Bible. I find it hard to believe that any person today can possible believe the Bible although full of some nice stories is hardly believable.
The funniest thing i ever saw was on "The Red Dwarf" when he found the first page of the Bible which stated that the book was fictious and not based on any person alive or dead!!
I do no mean ot offend anybody but everyone is allowed their beliefs

It is important to remember that the Bible like the DaVinci code were both written by humans. Although the Bible has historical facts some things have been exaggerated or omitted (as any one would do when retelling a story)
The DaVinci code takes a logical look at life and events in that time frame. Life expectancy was only till about the age of 33-40 years old. It would be logical to assume that a man over the age of 15 would have had gotten married and every thing else that implies.

The book might be considered fiction, but that's because it's only considered a theory.
For something to become a theory, it must have a lot of research behind it, as well as contain a lot of information that does fully relate to the subject.
In the case of the DaVinci Code, Dan Brown was able to take many theories and put them together, and everything flowed so well together that it's almost impossible to not believe at least a single fact.
Go look at the Last Supper by Leonardo DaVinci, you'll see that what Dan Brown says apprears to be correct.
Theories are just that, and it all depends on what you believe.

In fact... even the author accepts this is ONLY A NOVEL. But, as always, the common people prefers NOT TO THINK. Da Vincy Code is very well written, in a credible way, so many people believe every single word in it...
and dont forget the X-files sindrome

I suspect the question is "loaded"; i.e. it seems to assume that the Bible and the Da Vinci Code contradict.
The Bible is actually silent on Jesus early years.

You say it's all fiction unlike the bible? How do you know that the bible is not fiction. You can't prove that the things in the bible happened or are/were real. To me, the bible sounds like a bunch of poorly written stories, because the bible is poorly written.

People like facts. While the story was fiction (Of course that chick was not the descendant Jesus!), Brown backs all of his accusations up with fact. Reading his novel led me to conduct my own rsearch and if you are able to discern the historical truth from the fiction, a lot of what he wrote does make a lot of sense. And unlike the bible his research is recent and he is able to explain the historical relvance/truths behind everything he wrote. Not unless you can go a resurrect Jesus or at leat King James, your argument is doomed to fail.

I think that The DaVinci code seems more believeable and less secretive. I mean the bible is full of unanswered questions that make no sense to some people. The DaVinci Code makes religion seem more believeable I guess.
