Some people probably think that because they are ignorant. Believe me, there are many, many more people who do not think that :)

Good portions of it. Haiti is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere, Brazil has vast acres of slums and substandard housing, many African nations are sliding below the poverty line.

Your assumption is only partially true. There are many "poor Countries" but there many that are doing quite well. Europe, for the most part is quite affluent. China and India are developing countries. Many parts of Africa and South America are third world countries - but we in the USA have portions of our cxountry that are impoverished.

How sad that you think that I never did , I have a friend in Nigeria, Egypt, and from Israel all educated and speak two & three languages. I am from the Usa & cannot speak English properly .

I don't think that! There are pockets of poverty in the US and many do not have access to medical care!

Some people in every advanced country think like that. They are the ones who stay in their little cocoons in their snug little homes, who don't want to have their horizons expanded.
