I always had irregular periods. Go see a Gyno. and make sure there is nothing wrong, cause there could be if this had never happened to you before. You can have a cyst or anything. Be checked just to be safe.

you should not feel uncomfortable to talk about it, your dad is also familiar with that kind of stuff. Also, it's kind of normal situation, cause now is the time your body is suffering all kinds of changes and your period should normalize in year or two, but just in case, you should go see a doctor, there's nothing to be scared about

Your periods depend on so much. If you are stressed or not been eating well or not sleeping well then your period can be different. Other things that factor in like how long they usually are, how heavy they have been and how regular they are. I'm sure you can call someone one like a gyno or planned parenthood (look the numbers up on line) to ask them instead of your dad.

Some women do have that problem, your best answer though is to go to your OB. Some birth control pills will help control the length of your period. But if you have to mention that to your father, he should be told also that birth control is not just for that simply, it helps women with other things as well such as shortening and regulating the menstrual cycle, and sometimes clearning up acne problems. On the down side it also causes weight gain, but rarely extreme weight gain.

Everyones period is totally different. Some last 3-7 or more days. And all is normal!
At your age, you should see a gynocologist.
Plus they can help you with questions you may have.

Sometimes your menstral cycle will go a little "hay wire". You might have an unusually long period, or an unusually short period. As long as this has only happened once, you will be fine. But if it becomes a monthly thing... you need can talk to your regular doctor about helping you find a gyno, or you might be able to find a free clinic to go to for teens in your city

I have the most irregular peoiod, I wont get it for 6 months then I will get it every three weeks, if your bleeding last more then 10 days, I would seek out a health professional. You should be able to setup your own appt, otherwise, if you find a planned parenthood alot of times they can direct you where you need to go.Luck!
